Week 1 from the MTC -- "Fosh"

Hey everyone! It has been a crazy first week and it has been a blast so far! Well my flight from Lima was fine and all my luggage was fine, nothing was wrong. Not too bad for my first flight ever! Migrations was so crazy too, when I went there to make sure all my visa info is all good. In a few weeks I'll go back to get my Peruvian ID card so I can stay in the country for longer than the 90 days.

Well the food here is not bad either but not as good as the Provo MTC. It mostly consists of rice, chicken, rolls, and eggs. Literally every meal is rice for lunch, eggs for breakfast, and chicken all the time. The weather here is really nice. Right now it is mostly cloudy with it being the end of winter but we have had a lot of sun and nice temperatures. Mostly around 70-75 degress. Not too bad.

My companion is Elder Larkin. He is from St. George and he is a pretty chill guy. Doesn't talk too much but he is a pretty good companion. Doesn't know Spanish very well but he is very good at understanding doctrine. My Spanish is coming along. Lots of new vocab and lessons to know but most of the grammar is review for me. My classes are mostly review but I have still learned a lot about gospel terms. Also, I got called to be the district leader. So I am in charge of all the members in my district--my class it is. So there are about 10 of us and they are so cool. Such nice guys to talk to and to hang out with.

I don't have much time because they only give us an hour to type to all our emails so it is rushed around here. Another weird thing is that I am called Fosh now--everyone around here calls me it for some reason. Its weird but i am doing well with the new name change I guess. So far it is a straight schedule of classes, waking up at 6:30 am, and meal times. So mostly it is classes all day, physical activity for an hour, and meals in between all that. So today (Wednesday) is my p-day for these next few weeks and it is nice with the break in the week. So you guys will receive emails Wednesdays for the next 5 weeks.

Today I got to go do an endowment session at the Lima Peru Temple and it was so cool, so beautiful. Also got to go shopping for some snacks and other things for the week in Lima after. It is crazy how these people drive! They are insane when they weave through lanes, so scary riding a bus to the temple! haha

Hope everyone is doing good back home. I love all of you guys and hope you don't miss me too much. I am just so excited to keep learning and teaching people while I am still here in Lima, but I can't wait to get to Cusco to teach people. Send prayers for my learning Spanish for sure, I'll need it. I wish you guys the best of luck at home. Oh and send pictures through email, it would be awesome to see how you guys are doing.

Love you guys!! Email ya next week!
